First blog post…

Well here we are. Our first blog post….I have been sitting here for close to a month, toying with the idea of starting a food blog. Will I have the time? Will I actually post? What will I post? Will anyone care to read them?….

So after many back and forth arguments with myself, I decided “Hey, what the heck…”, bought the domain name, and started to type. With all the thousands of food blogs out there, my goal isn’t necessarily to be the best (though it would be nice if it happens), but just merely to find others out there that enjoy two of my favorite things as much as I do: food and books!

Working at a bookstore, each week I see thousands of new books placed upon the shelves, having a desire to read each and every one of them. I see hundreds of new mysteries, tons of shirtless romances, and countless non-fiction titles that look amazing at just the mere sight of their cover . I know, I know…dont judge a book by its cover, but that’s what this blog is for!!!

I decided what better way to combine my love for books and cooking than to have a food blog! (brilliant, I know…)  My goal is to review at least two books a month, with the help of some very willing co-workers, and provided a scrumptious recipe to pair with it. What better way to discover new books than to eat while reading and justify bringing yet another book home and increasing the chance of it being read and not just added to my ever-growing bookshelf.

To start the blog off right, we are beginning with the rewrite of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. “Eligible” written by Curtis Sittenfeld is set to modern times while following the classic overtones of one of literature’s most beloved tales. Prepare to be emersed in the written word and satisfied as I present Red Velvet Nutella Stuffed Cookies and Homemade Oatmeal Cream Pies cause there is nothing wrong with a little icing on the page….
